Martin Luther King Weekend in Winthrop Washington in January 2019 will prove once again to be a heck of a lot of fun for visitors and locals alike.

Skiing from cooler to warmer temperatures may impact your ski wax selection for the day, but the groomed cross country trails on the Methow Valley Sports Trails are all surprising beautiful and in great condition in any weather here in beautiful Mazama Washington. The Loup Loup Ski Bowl is also surprisingly fun in this dynamic temperature range we are experiencing from above freezing to single digits below.

Methow Valley Sports Trails are fully open and grooming happens each day. Loup Loup Ski Bowl is fully open too but both areas needed some fresh snow and hip hip horrah it is snowing hard in Mazama. All the trails should be great tomorrow and Loup Loup could have a spectacular ski day depending on temperatures.

Although we have low snow conditions and a seemingly endless inversion in Methow Valley, the Methow Valley Sports Trails are open in Mazama, Washington.  The grooming is just amazingly great considering there is so little snow. There are some areas of thin snow, so be careful as you do not want to go crashing down at the start of the season nor scratch up your ski bases unnecessarily. For the most part it is just great zooming along and well worth the trip out to the system in Mazama. 

The Ski shop in Mazama is also open for your one stop ski shopping needs. They have rental equipment, lessons, ski supplies, and ski passes. Everything you will need to get to enjoy the fun...

Early ski season rock skis recommended. Low snow conditions and few trails open to date on the Methow Valley Sports Trails, and Loup Loup Ski Bowl is  not open yet.  But we keep getting more and more snow so it is shaping up to be a great year and in a week or two with a little luck and lots more snow, Methow Valley skiing should be in full swing.

Great ski days continue this late March 2017 in Methow Valley.  The snow is fast in the morning and softer as the day heats up.  Depending on what type of snow you love, or what type of workout you are hoping for timing is everything this time of year.
