Windermere’s chief economist has switched to a monthly update and the first Monday with Mathew Gardner for 2021 is here. It’s no surprise we are still in a sellers market here in the Methow Valley with record low inventory and increased demand due to low mortgage rates, increased remote workers, and the natural beauty surrounding us. Although we are seeing steady new construction nationwide, Mazama, Winthrop, and most of the Methow Valley have various factors restricting growth in this area. As demand and home prices begin to soften nationwide, we are most likely behind that trend here in the Methow Valley. We expect an even greater increase in interest towards the Methow Valley’s high end luxury market in 2021 with lower jumbo mortgage rates and more inventory available for the discerning buyer. |
